Ironically, narcotics share the same particularity – they are more useful as an illegal good. Undoubtedly, the large supplies of narcotics come from channels protected by the government. In the books “ The Politics of Heroin in Southeast Asia ” and “ Drug Traffic: Narcotics and Organized Crime in Australia ” Alfred W. McCoy revealed that the Central Intelligence Agency, better know from propaganda movies as CIA, was largely involved in drug trafficking from the Middle East through Europe to the United States in the 1960s.
